Congratulations to Ryo Fujisawa, whose new paper in Science shows how the TTF2 ATPase controls the processing of sites of incomplete DNA replication during mitosis in mammalian cells.
Many congratulations to Tom Deegan who will receive the Biochemical Society’s Colworth Medal for 2027. Tom was previously a member of Karim Labib’s group and is now a senior group leader at the MRC Human Genetics Unit in Edinburgh, where he uses biochemical reconstitution and structural biology to study the regulation of the eukaryotic replisome.
Many congratulations to Constance Alabert who has been awarded an 8-year Discovery Award of £2,500,000 from Wellcome, to study ‘DNA replication coupled mechanisms that control cell fate transitions’.
Many congratulations to Adrian Saurin who has been awarded an 8-year Discovery Award of £3,800,000 from Wellcome, in collaboration with the groups of Tony Ly (Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Dundee) and Andrea Musacchio (Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology, Dortmund, Germany) to study ‘Kinase-phosphatase cooperativity on individual molecules during the cell cycle’.
Congratulations to Agostina Bertolin who has recently been awarded a Career Development Award from Wellcome and will join DGI as a new group leader from January 2026.
Many congratulations to Tom Deegan, formerly of the School of Life Sciences in Dundee and now a group leader at the MRC Human Genetics Unit in Edinburgh, for his election to the EMBO Young Investigator Programme. Tom is one of 28 new EMBO Young Investigators, who join “a vibrant network of more than 800 current and former EMBO Young Investigators, Installation Grantees and Global Investigators” (https://www.embo.org/press-releases/twenty-eight-group-leaders-become-embo-young-investigators/).
